The Infraction Deferral Program is an alternative to the normal judicial process for those who commit infractions. It provides an opportunity to have an infraction charge dismissed if you keep your driving record clean for 180 days. Dismissing the ticket(s) means your offense will not be submitted to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and additional points will not be assessed to your driver’s license. Your auto insurance rates may not increase as a result of this ticket. This program is voluntary and administered at the discretion of the Prosecutor’s Office.
If you are between the ages of 16 and 24 and you have never completed Alive at 25, you will NOT do the Infraction Deferral Program. You must go to Court on your court date and the Judge will order you to take the Alive at 25 course. However, if you have completed the Alive at 25, you are eligible for this program.
For more information on this program and to determine eligibility, please contact the Prosecutor’s Office at (812) 435-5150.
