HUGGLER EXTRADITED BACK TO VANDERBURGH COUNTY TO FACE MURDER CHARGES AFTER FLEEING TO SPAIN

Evansville, IN – Prosecutor Diana Moers announces that on April 28, 2025, Samuel Steven Huggler was extradited from Spain to the United States to stand trial for charges relating to the murder and attempted murders of three of his siblings. Huggler is charged with Aiding, Inducing, or Causing Murder, three counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, two counts of Aiding, Inducing, or Causing Attempted Murder, and Possession of an Altered Firearm. Huggler appeared in court on April 29, 2025, and was given two weeks to hire counsel.

The Prosecutor’s Office thanks all the local, federal, and international agencies that helped ensure Huggler was extradited back to Vanderburgh County to face justice. These agencies include the United States Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs; United States Department of State; Federal Bureau of Investigation; United States Marshals Service; Government of Spain, Spanish National Police (Policía Nacional) and law enforcement agencies; Evansville Police Department; and Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office.
