JURY FINDS MAN GUILTY OF MOLESTING AND THREATENING YOUNG VICTIM

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. — Prosecutor Diana Moers announces that on Tuesday, February 24, a jury found Lewis L. Harris guilty of Child Molesting as a Level 4 Felony and Intimidation as a Level 6 Felony.

Harris was arrested after a victim was interviewed at Holly’s House in April of 2025, where she disclosed being sexually abused by Harris on multiple occasions. The victim said she believed she was 11 when the abuse started.

After sexually abusing the victim, Harris threatened the victim with violence in an attempt to keep her from telling anyone what had happened.

Following trial, the jury deliberated for about an hour and a half before finding Harris guilty.

The case was investigated by Detective Werne with the Evansville Police Department and tried by Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys Amanda Champion and Anjuli Alameddine. T. Wilcox, J. Pollock, M. Richardville, A. Carden, and J. Savage also substantially assisted.

The Honorable Judge Robert J. Pigman of the Vanderburgh County Superior Court presided.

Harris is now scheduled to be sentenced on April 1. Count 1 carries a sentence range of 2 to 12 years in prison, while the sentence range for Count 2 is 1 to 2.5 years.
