SECOND MURDERER SENTENCED TO PRISON AFTER VICTIM BEAT TO DEATH IN 2024

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. — Prosecutor Diana Moers announces that on Friday, January 30, Charles Miles was sentenced to serve 60 years in the Indiana Department of Correction after he and another man ruthlessly beat a victim to death in 2024.

Miles faced a minimum sentence of 45 years and a maximum sentence of 65 years after previously being found guilty of Murder for his role in the 2024 killing of Corey Fisher.

Miles and his Co-Defendant, Cade Kirk, killed Fisher in cold blood, striking him numerous times in the head and leaving him to die after following him to the intersection of Heidelbach and Louisiana on the night of June 22, 2024.

Kirk was also previously found guilty of Murder in the case and sentenced to 55 years at the Indiana Department of Correction.

During the Sentencing Hearing for Miles on Friday, the Court noted that he posed a high risk of reoffending, and that he was out on bond in another criminal case at the time of the murder. The Court also found Miles’ criminal history to be an aggravating circumstance when determining his sentence.

Special Magistrate Judge Emily Kemper imposed the sentence and presided over the case, which was tried by Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys Stan Levco and Keaton Maurer.
